Chapter 01: The Catalyst

A Failure That Started It All

It was 2018. A late October summit attempt on Mount Assiniboine. The weather window was supposed to hold, but the Rockies have their own agenda. Within an hour, a sudden system moved in, dropping visibility to zero and temperatures to -20°C.

We were forced to bivouac. It was then that the stitching on our "premium" tent failed. The wind tore through the fabric, and survival became a very real question. We made it down the next morning, but something broke in us that night: our trust in commercial gear.

Summit & Stream was born from that freezing, miserable night. We vowed to build gear that we would trust with our lives.

Function Dictates Form.

We don't design for Instagram. We design for the backcountry. Every zipper, every seam, every denier count of fabric is chosen for a specific, vital reason. If it doesn't make the gear stronger, lighter, or more reliable, it gets cut.
